The Atlas Crossbody is our answer to the bag we wanted for ourselves: beautiful enough to stand out, comfortable enough to carry all day, and practical enough to travel anywhere.
Each one is handmade by the two of us, Maaz and Naima, in Morocco. We don’t buy finished bags and add our label. We don’t send our designs to a factory. And we don’t mass produce them.
We make them.
From choosing the hides and developing our colors and dyes to cutting the suede, preparing each piece, stitching, assembling and finishing the bag, our hands are involved from beginning to end.
Beautiful, but built to be used
A crossbody should make life easier, not just look good.
We designed the Atlas Crossbody with multiple zippered compartments so the things you reach for throughout the day have their own place. Your phone, wallet, keys, passport and other essentials can stay organized, secure and close to your body instead of disappearing into the bottom of one large compartment.
The slim profile sits comfortably against the body without the bulk of a traditional handbag, while the adjustable suede strap allows you to find a comfortable fit.
It has become the kind of bag we love for traveling, airports, markets, festivals, walking through a new city, road trips and everyday life.
It starts with the leather
Before there is a bag, there is a hide.
We carefully select the genuine suede hides we want to work with, looking at their feel, character and quality. We choose our colors and dyes and work with the natural material rather than trying to make every piece look artificially identical.
That’s important to us.
Real leather has character. You may find subtle variations in grain, texture or tone from one bag to another. And because each crossbody is individually cut and handmade, the stitching and small details may vary slightly as well.
No two are exactly alike.
Those variations aren’t flaws to us. They’re part of the evidence that your bag came from a real hide and passed through real hands rather than an assembly line.
Made by two people, not a factory
There is a lot of work behind every one of these bags.
Naima and I have spent countless hours developing and refining them together. We choose the materials, work through colors, cut, stitch, assemble and finish each piece with the goal of making something we are genuinely proud to send into the world.
Naima works incredibly hard. Her patience, skill and attention to the smallest details are woven into these bags, and it matters to me that the person carrying one knows who helped make it.
That’s why we don’t describe these as simply “artisan made.”
They’re made by us.
